The Guard and Engine house were built in 1872 of
brick with sandstone trim and represent an interesting attempt to
combine two very different functions in one structure. The engine house
required large open space and the guard house, a series of small cells.
Each section was completely separate with the guard house taking the
greater bulk of the building. This building still exists today but has
been altered by the application of stucco and renovation of the roof
line. |
