Located on the west corner of Military Road and West 2nd Street this huge mansion was nicknamed "Hastings Folly" because its building virtually bankrupted its owner.  It was 3 1/2 floors, had 40 rooms of which 21 were bedrooms and only 3 bathrooms.  There were 88 doors, 83 windows and the 15 foot tower.  It was a boys dormitory for a short time for the convent
