Attorney Lansing B. Mizner was Dr. Semple's step-nephew who was drawn to Benicia by his Uncles excitement about the new town he had founded.  He was a highly educated man active in politics as well as the California railway.  He was a father of seven children and raised them in this modest corner house in Benicia.
